What is the Worker Wallet Card?

The NYC Department of Buildings Worker Wallet is a new initiative that makes it easier for construction workers to manage and verify their safety training certifications. This wallet card consolidates multiple safety qualifications into a single convenient card, allowing workers to quickly access and present their certifications as needed. The wallet card also streamlines compliance, ensuring that workers have the required credentials readily available on-site.

Who must have a Worker Wallet Card?

The Worker Wallet card is the only card DOB will accept as valid proof of training for workers currently holding a certification or performing work in New York City using any of the following certifications:

  • Rigging supervisor                              

  • Climber/Tower Crane Rigger             

  • Suspended Scaffold Supervisor            

  • Supported Scaffold User                   

  • Periodic Gas Piping Inspector            

  • Suspended Scaffold User                       

  • Rigging Worker                                   

  • Mast Climber/Operator & Refresher 

  • Supported Scaffold Install/Remover

Is there a deadline for the Worker Wallet Card?

YES! BY JULY 1, 2025, THE WORKER WALLET WILL BE THE ONLY CARD ACCEPTED ON NEW YORK CITY CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS!
